VISITING PROFESSOR OF CYBERSECURITY – ADVANTAGE ACADEMY

Opportunity:

This role will provide instruction and support to DeVry University's Advantage Academy high school population in Chicago, IL.

DeVry University’s Advantage Academy helps qualified Chicago Public School students take college courses—and earn an Associate Degree —while earning a high school diploma at the same time.

Location is 1900 W. Lawrence Avenue Chicago, Il (Ravenswood area). Classes run from 9-12pm or 12-3pm CST. 

• Courses meet twice a week for eight weeks (daytime).
• Face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment.
• Commitment is on a course by course basis.

Responsibilities:

• Course delivery twice a week for eight weeks to dual degree students on-site at Chicago campus during the daytime.
• Provide students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a template which includes the terminal course objectives.
• Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials. 
• Use appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
• Model effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
• Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
• Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
• Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in cybersecurity or related domain/field (with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching)
• Three to five years of practiced experience in the field of cybersecurity or related domain/field
• Two to five years previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level
• Domain related certifications
