MANAGER, TRAINING

The Manager, Training position is responsible for leading the strategic development, innovation and delivery of training content and programs for the University. The position is responsible for ensuring the flawless execution of the training content creation, communication, and timelines. The Manager, Training partners with functions throughout the university on large scale organizational projects and initiatives which require training support. Duties also include project management, mentoring, new colleague training, compliance review, leadership development training, certification, reporting and analytics, training innovation, as well as working directly with their HR leadership and Executive Committee on priority organizational goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Represent HR and the Training Team as lead trainer on key organizational projects and objectives
- Align training function activities to the strategy, vision and mission of the organization
- Support the organization’s Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP)
- Research new training technologies and modalities to enhance the delivery, efficiency, and effectiveness of training content
- Use various technologies to create training materials including videos, job aids and interactive learnings
- Review data to drive strategy and ensure efficacy of training content and programs
- Manage and deliver all facets of the new colleague training programs
- Develop, maintain and assist with the delivery of functional leadership training programs
- Deliver and facilitate live and virtual group training activities, including information for new programs, systems, processes and procedures
- Support the development and delivery of quarterly assessments to all managers and advisors with input and guidance from the functional leaders
- Ensure quality control checks are built into the successful implementation of training plans, deliverables and strategies
- Work with functional leaders to ensure compliance with required policies, procedures and materials
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for internal review and formal compliance approval process for training content
- Partner with functional leaders to identify performance trends and supplemental training needs
- Assist in the development and mentoring of the Training and Sr. Training Specialist colleagues on the Training Team
Qualifications

- Bachelors required; master’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years of leadership, training and development, or related experience required
- Formal leadership experience required
- Experience leading large-scale initiatives and projects
- Experience with authoring, instructional design and training tools preferred
- Ability to learn complex systems, technologies and processes
- Must be highly self-motivated and reliable
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Familiarity with managing different LMS/LXP (Canvas, Percipio, DDI) applications preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive projects to completion
- Knowledge of principles, practices, methodologies, and procedures for enrollment advising and/or student academic and financial advising
- Strong Microsoft Office and Adobe skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT, PDF, etc.)
